Aan Russische klanken zal het MIRYconcertzaal dit seizoen niet ontbreken. Heel wat pedagogische projecten nemen Slavisch repertoire als focus. Voor het solistenconcert met het symfonieorkest van het Koninklijk Conservatorium grasduint dirigent Dirk Brossé in het repertoire van de 19de en de 20ste eeuw. Veel lichtzinnigheid hoef je met zo’n Slavische insteek niet te verwachten. Diep in de snaar en rauw in het koper, is doorgaans het devies. Een stevige portie Russische romantiek van onder meer Michail Glinka en Antonín Dvořák kan daarom niet ontbreken, maar ook de veelzijdige Alfred Schnittke en Dmitri Kabalevski worden onder de aandacht gebracht.
The MIRYconcerthall will not be lacking in Russian sounds this year. Many educational projects focus on Slavic repertoire. For the soloist concert with the symphony orchestra of the Royal Conservatory, conductor Dirk Brossé dipped into the repertoire of the 19th and 20th century. Do not expect much light-heartedness. Feverish strings and raw brass sounds is the order of the day. The programme includes romantic pieces by Michail Glinka and Antonín Dvořák, but also features music by the multi-faceted Alfred Schnittke and Dmitry Kabalevsky.
