Ruiskamer en Different Class organiseren een avondprogramma rond de Luikse audiovisuele kunstenaar François Boulanger, ook bekend als ssaliva. Onder die naam maakt hij sinds 2011 hypnotische en etherische soundscapes. Speciaal voor deze Ruiskamer schrijft hij met partner in crime 0comeups een stuk elektro-akoestische muziek dat door GAME zal worden gebracht. Daarnaast brengt 0comeups een eigen live set. Zelf zal ssaliva met Londense geluids- en videokunstenaar Nicola Tirabasso (VISIO) een audiovisueel spektakel bieden.
ssaliva
François Boulanger is een audiovisuele kunstenaar, geboren in Luik, België, in 1983. Eind jaren ’90/begin 2000 begon hij met het maken van muziek en fotografie/collages.
In 2011 startte hij zijn experimentele project « ssaliva ». Na jarenlang als Cupp Cave aan alternatieve hiphop- en dancebeats te hebben gewerkt, ontwikkelde hij hypnotiserende soundscapes op basis van spaarzame ritmes, weelderige klanken en gekristalliseerde texturen. Een persoonlijke en romantische weergave van een leven te midden van de natuur en de vervuiling van de stad.
Zijn werk als ssaliva bestaat ook uit het vastleggen van even etherische als afgelegen plekken in foto’s, twee dwangmatige en eenzame processen die hem ertoe hebben gebracht duizenden vreemde, escapistische mentale landschappen te verzamelen. Soms spookachtig, soms heilig, een onmiddellijk herkenbare vorm van melancholie.
0comeups
Het werk van 0comeups wordt omschreven als epische collage: weidse, rijk gelaagde composities die het midden houden tussen geluidskunst en herinnering. Zijn muziek bevindt zich in een emotionele ruimte die bijna heilig aanvoelt en die nostalgie en eenzaamheid oproept, gevormd door grijze luchten en hoge flatgebouwen, velden en bossen, afzondering en melancholie. De nummers ontvouwen zich als veranderende landschappen en onthullen bij elke luisterbeurt nieuwe details, terwijl onrust plaatsmaakt voor momenten van verheven rust.
VISIO
VISIO is de artiestennaam van de in Londen gevestigde muzikant en beeldend kunstenaar Nicola Tirabasso. In zijn werk, dat zich uitstrekt over geluid, bewegend beeld en visuele compositie, onderzoekt hij de mysterieuze grenzen tussen de werkelijkheid en het onverklaarbare. Vanuit fictieve verbeeldingswerelden, volkssymboliek, internetmythologieën en antiquarische beeldcultuur construeert hij gefragmenteerde werelden waarin opzettelijk anachronisme en onechtheid middelen worden om herinnering, authenticiteit en hedendaagse verhalen ter discussie te stellen.
Sinds hij een integraal onderdeel is geworden van het Macao-collectief in Milaan, heeft Tirabasso een actieve rol gespeeld in de onafhankelijke culturele wereld. Later richtte hij de in Londen gevestigde initiatieven Nocturnal Reflections en Club Mutante op. In de loop der jaren heeft hij een multidisciplinaire praktijk ontwikkeld die live-optredens, installaties, film en grafisch ontwerp omvat, waarbij hij samenwerkt met kunstenaars als ssaliva, Heith, Penny Rimbaud, Rustan Söderling en Günseli Yalcinkaya.
In 2022 bracht VISIO via Haunter Records zijn debuut-lp ‘Privacy Angels’ uit, een album dat mythologische verhalen, digitale spiritualiteit en gefragmenteerde herinneringen verkent aan de hand van experimentele songstructuren en meeslepende geluidsontwerpen. In 2024 presenteerde hij de solotentoonstelling ‘Fools Circel 9wys’ in Milaan, samengesteld door Threes en met medewerking van Penny Rimbaud. In 2026 bracht hij ‘Trickstar’ uit, een audiovisueel samenwerkingsproject met ssaliva, vergezeld van een video van Noel Oplinger.
Zijn werk is internationaal gepresenteerd via tentoonstellingen, filmvertoningen en performances op locaties en bij instellingen zoals het ICA, South London Gallery, Camden Arts Centre, Lafayette Anticipations, Swiss Institute, Club To Club, Cripta747, Spazio Maiocchi, Fondazione Elpis en Neo Shibuya. In 2025 trad hij toe tot het roster van SHAPE+ Platform.

François Boulanger is an audiovisual artist born in Liège, Belgium in 1983. He started producing music and photography/collages by the end of the 90’s/early 2000.
In 2011, he started his experimental project « ssaliva ». After working for years as Cupp Cave on alternative hip-hop and dance beats, he developed hypnotic soundscapes based on sparse rhythms, lush tones and crystallised textures. A personal and romantic rendition of a life amidst nature and city pollution.
His work as ssaliva also consists of documenting equally ethereal and removed places in pictures, two compulsive and lonely processes that have made him accumulate thousands of strange, escapist mental landscapes. Sometimes ghostly, sometimes sacred, an instantly recognizable form of melancholia.
0comeups
0comeups’ work has been described as epic collage: expansive, densely layered compositions suspended somewhere between sound art and memory. His music inhabits an emotional space that feels almost holy, evoking nostalgia and solitude, shaped by grey skies and tower blocks, fields and woodlands, isolation and melancholy. Songs unfold as shifting landscapes, revealing new details with every encounter as unrest gives way to moments of elevated repose.
VISIO
VISIO is the alias of London-based musician and visual artist Nicola Tirabasso. Working across sound, moving image and visual composition, his practice investigates the arcane boundaries between reality and the inexplicable. Drawing from fictional imaginaries, folk symbolism, internet mythologies and antiquarian visual culture, he constructs fragmented worlds where deliberate anachronism and inauthenticity become tools to question memory, authenticity and contemporary narratives.
Since becoming an integral part of the Macao collective in Milan, Tirabasso has played an active role in independent cultural production, later founding the London-based initiatives Nocturnal Reflections and Club Mutante. Over the years he has developed a multidisciplinary practice spanning live performance, installation, film and graphic design, collaborating with artists including ssaliva, Heith, Penny Rimbaud, Rustan Söderling and Günseli Yalcinkaya.
In 2022, VISIO released his debut LP Privacy Angels via Haunter Records, an album exploring mythological narratives, digital spirituality and fractured memory through experimental song structures and immersive sound design.
