Het Carousel Chamber Music Ensemble van klarinettiste Annelien Van Wauwe brengt musici van internationale allure bij elkaar voor unieke programma’s en onvergetelijke concerten. Haar medemuzikanten zijn Alexandra Soumm, Louis Rodde en Paloma Kouider, stuk voor stuk prijswinnende solisten en kamermuzikanten en bovendien uitmuntende pedagogen. Ze bundelen de krachten voor wat ongetwijfeld een beklijvend concert zal worden. Werk van de minder bekende Zaderatsky en Laitman wordt naast Olivier Messiaens Quatuor pour la fin du temps geplaatst, dat hij schreef toen hij aan het begin van de Tweede Wereldoorlog krijgsgevangen zat in een Duits kamp. In die extreme omstandigheden componeerde hij, zoals vaker geïnspireerd door zijn sterke geloof, een werk dat de tand des tijds moeiteloos doorstaat en die tijd zo daadwerkelijk buiten spel zet.
The Carousel Chamber Music Ensemble, led by clarinettist Annelien Van Wauwe, brings together musicians of international standing for unique programmes and unforgettable concerts. Her fellow musicians are Alexandra Soumm, Louis Rodde and Paloma Kouider, all of whom are award-winning soloists and chamber musicians, as well as outstanding teachers. They are joining forces for what is sure to be a memorable concert. Works by the lesser-known Zaderatsky and Laitman are paired with Olivier Messiaen’s Quatuor pour la fin du temps, which he wrote whilst held as a prisoner of war in a German camp at the start of the Second World War. In those extreme circumstances, inspired as he so often was by his strong faith, he composed a work that effortlessly stands the test of time and effectively renders time itself irrelevant.
