Als MIRY Concertzaal en Symfonieorkest Vlaanderen iets delen is het wel het besef dat de toekomst bij de jeugd ligt. Het symfonisch jeugdorkest SOV Young voegt de daad bij het woord. Begin november houden deze jongelingen de eerste van hun twee jaarlijkse repetitie-vierdaagses, bijgestaan uiteraard door de ervaren musici van Symfonieorkest Vlaanderen. Als klap op de vuurpijl puren ze uit alle pret en hard werk een gratis publiek concert, deze keer met een volledig Frans programma. Het doorwrochte symfonisch geweld van César Franck wordt voorafgegaan door elegante, tot suite herschreven toneelmuziek van Gabriel Fauré.
One thing that the MIRY Concert Hall and the Flanders Symphony Orchestra have in common is knowing that the future is with the young. The SOV Young symphony youth orchestra lives up to that promise. In early November, these young people will hold the first of their two annual four-day rehearsal events, supported of course by the experienced musicians of the Flanders Symphony Orchestra. As a highlight, they invest their devotion and hard work in a free public concert, this time with an entirely French programme. The symphonic intensity of César Franck follows elegant theatre music by Gabriel Fauré, rewritten as a suite.
