De Franse violiste Clara Levy toert momenteel door Europa met haar nieuwste soloproject ‘13 visions’. Daarin droomt ze een fictieve ontmoeting tussen accordeonfenomeen Pauline Oliveros en de middeleeuwse toondichteres Hildegard Von Bingen. Aansluitend treedt Astrid Sonne aan. Haar genre-overschrijdende composities omvatten synthesizers, koorsamples en altvioolsequenties. De audio van haar in een Berlijnse elektriciteitscentrale gecapteerde performance ‘Ephemeral’ vormt het uitgangspunt van haar nieuwe ep ‘Ephemeral Camera Feed’. Het resultaat is een sfeervolle weergave van het optreden, vol galm, kuchjes en gerabarber, waarbij de verschuivende dynamiek van de oorspronkelijke ruimte zich vertaalt in een nieuwe viscerale ervaring.
The French violinist Clara Levy is currently touring Europe with her newest solo project, 13 Visions, in which she dreams of a fictitious meeting between accordion phenomenon Pauline Oliveros and the mediaeval tone poet, Hildegard Von Bingen. Astrid Sonne also makes her appearance. Levy’s genre-transcending compositions include synthesizers, choir samples and viola sequences. The audio of her performance of her work Ephemeral in a Berlin electricity centre became a starting point for her new EP, Ephemeral Camera Feed. The result is an atmospheric rendition of the performance, full of reverberations, throat and crowd sounds, in which the shifting dynamic of the original space is translated into a new, visceral experience.
