MIRY zet in op jong talent en wil net afgestudeerde muzikanten professionele podiumkansen bieden. De klassieke en hedendaagse muziek in Vlaanderen doet het relatief goed als je naar gevestigde ensembles en grote zalen en festivals kijkt, maar om daar de nodige zuurstof te blijven vinden is er ook een levendige en creatieve experimentele underground-scene nodig waar jonge artiesten de ruimte hebben om alles opnieuw uit te vinden en spannende muzikale allianties aan te gaan. Binnen MADE IN MIRY trachten we
het kader te scheppen waarbinnen dit alles mogelijk is. Tijdens een langdurend ondersteuningstraject werd Nemø ensemble bijgestaan met logistieke, communicatieve en technische middelen. Hun residentie wordt dit jaar afgerond met een programma van even jonge componisten. Met Óscar Escudero als centrale figuur maakt het ensemble zijn artistieke intenties klaar en duidelijk: een quasi-ritualistische, hyper-mediale, crypto-politieke, electro-akoestische hotchpotch van beeld en klank.

MIRY is devoted to young talent and offers newly graduated musicians professional stage opportunities. Classical and contemporary music in Flanders does relatively well if one looks at established ensembles and large halls and festivals, but to ensure it has the necessary oxygen, you also need a lively and creative experimental underground scene, where young artists have the space to reinvent everything and enter into exciting musical alliances. With MADE IN MIRY, we try to create a framework within which all this is possible. During a long-term support trajectory, the Nemø Ensemble received logistical, communications and technical assistance. Their residency will be completed this year with a programme of works by equally young composers. With Óscar Escudero as the central figure, the ensemble makes its artistic intentions clear: a quasi-ritualistic, hyper-medial, crypto-political, electro-acoustic hotchpotch of image and sound.
