Het Ghent Advanced Master Ensemble schiet elk jaar vroeg uit de startblokken. Daarbij laat het zich tijdens een intensieve workshop telkens inwijden in de wereld van een welbepaalde muzikale bezoeker, in dit geval de Singaporese componiste Diana Soh. Haar oeuvre laat zich kenmerken door manisch uitspattende activiteit, het gevolg van haar interesse in de lichamelijke dimensie van het musiceren, afgewisseld door momenten van passiviteit en verstilling. Een sterk theatrale inslag is haar dan ook niet vreemd en daar is ze bij GAME ongetwijfeld mee aan het juiste adres.
The Ghent Advanced Master Ensemble gets off to an early start each year. During an intensive workshop, the ensemble is immersed in the world of a specific musical visitor, in this case the Singaporean composer Diana Soh. Her oeuvre is characterized by manic activity, the result of her interest in the physical dimension of making music, alternated by moments of passivity and stillness. She is no stranger to theatricality, which makes GAME an ideal sparring partner.
