Het Ghent Advanced Master Ensemble GAME stelt een programma voor rond de Italiaanse componist Pierluigi Billone. Zoals zo vaak bij Billone staat percussie in het middelpunt van de belangstelling. In Dike.Wall voor solo slagwerk en ensemble bestaat het arsenaal van de solist enkel uit metaal, zij het in al zijn hoedanigheden: rauw, droog, resonant, snerpend, zingend en alles wat u er misschien wel nooit van verwachtte. Starten doet GAME met het werk ‘Wave Songs’ voor vrouwenstem en een schare oscillatoren van Alvin Lucier en ter afsluiting van het concert volgt Luigi Nono’s ‘La Fabbrica Illuminata’ voor vrouwenstem en tape.
GAME, the Ghent Advanced Master Ensemble, presents a programme around the Italian composer Pierluigi Billone. As so often with Billone percussion is at the centre of attention. In ‘Dike.Wall’ for solo percussion and ensemble, the soloist’s arsenal consists only of metal, albeit in all its capacities: raw, dry, resonant, screeching, singing and everything else you might never have expected. Afterwards GAME will present Alvin Lucier’s ‘Wave Songs’ for female voice and oscillators and Luigi Nono’s ‘La Fabbrica Illuminata’ for female voice and tape.
