BLATTwerk, each year a number of students gather under that name to create new music, and in particular to create work of the composition students. In this edition everything revolves around the Ten pieces for wind quintet by György Ligeti, perhaps te most good-natured avant-gardist of them all. This collection of character pieces, in the so-called micropolyphonic style, excels in clarity of idea and proves that experiment and musical expression are perfectly compatible. Contributions from our composition class offer a musical answer to this series. The ensemble will work under the supervision of Piet Van Bockstal, oboe teacher and contemporary music specialist.
