Van Arvo Pärt verwacht je sowieso weinig hoera’s, maar het adagio van Mozarts tweede pianosonate dat hij transcribeerde bij het heengaan van een dichte vriend snijdt wel erg diep. Het bekende andante uit Schuberts zwanenzang en het miniatuurtje ‘Serenade lointaine’ van George Enescu doen de stemming verder dalen. Wie na de vier Argentijnse seizoenen van Piazzolla evenwel nog lacht, neme contact op met een hartspecialist. Het hunne werkt niet meer.

One expects little hurrah from Arvo Pärt anyway, but the adagio from Mozart’s second piano sonata that he transcribed on the passing of a close friend cuts particularly deep.
